Collections & Conservation Internships

MOA's Collections Care and Management Department accepts applications for collections or conservation interns at three annual internship periods: summer, fall, and winter. Internships are unpaid and are geared toward students who are currently in a museum studies/collections management or conservation training program and require an internship placement, or for recent graduates pursuing a museum career who are looking for volunteer experience that focuses specifically on collections management or conservation training. The number of internships available will vary based upon departmental needs and staff availability. Actual start dates and duration of internships are flexible, as we recognize that different programs have varying internship structures.

Applicants are eligible to apply for the John Grant Memorial Award which provides a stipend of $1000-$3000 per placement.
