MOA members and visitors are invited to further their understanding and experience MOA’s exhibition, Heaven, Hell and Somewhere In Between: Portuguese Popular Art through a series of tours and other special events and programs.
Engage in a panel discussion with community members about their experiences of being Portuguese in Canada. UBC Okanagan professor Carlos Teixeira, who has written extensively about Portuguese-Canadian immigrants, leads the discussion. Discussion panelists for this event includes Gloria Botelho, who manages the Portugal in Vancouver Facebook page; Victor Marques, a member of the Alliance of Portuguese Clubs and Association of BC; and Luis Marinho, a PhD student in the Department of Archaeology at Simon Fraser University, and Nuno Porto, Museum of Anthropology curator of Latin America and Africa.
Event is free with museum admission.
