Unceded Traditions. Unceded Territories.

Opening Reception: Wednesday, July 26, 6 pm
Queen Elizabeth Theatre (650 Hamilton St.)
Free Admission: Please RSVP

Unceded Traditions is a celebration of the enduring nature of the original peoples of these lands through showcasing Indigenous performance in the most prominent performing house of Vancouver, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

The exhibition features photographs from the Coastal First Nations Dance Festival, an annual event produced by the Dancers of Damelahamid and MOA that celebrates Indigenous performance in all its forms. These 16 images by photographer Chris Randle are powerful testaments to these living traditions, and to the enduring nature of performance, dance and ceremony in First Nations communities.
Unceded Traditions also brings together a collection of sculpture and textiles by artists such as Robert Davidson, Bill Reid, Judy Chartrand, Brenda Crabtree and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas.
