 Bookings: What you need to know

Please have the following information ready when you make your request(s):

  1. Your program selection(s), plus date and time
  2. Alternative dates and times in case first choices are taken
  3. Number of students and grade level
  4. School name and COMPLETE address, including postal code
  5. Your name, telephone, email and fax number

Group Rates
Unless otherwise stated, the group rate (10 or more) for school programs is $7.84 per student, including taxes. Teachers can book two programs on the same day for $11.20 per student. (Coupons do not apply to school bookings.) MOA requires one supervising adult for every seven elementary students and one adult for every ten secondary students. Teachers and accompanying adults are admitted free, and must stay with their group for the duration of the visit. To enjoy your full program, please ensure your group arrives 15 minutes before your program starts.

Confirmation
All teachers will be sent a confirmation email or fax after booking a program or lunch space. Booking Education Programs: What you need to know and the Teacher Resource Guide, which includes background information on Northwest Coast First Nations are available online. Each specific educational program has a downloadable resource package. All online resources are available at http://www.moa.ubc.ca/programs/resources.php.

Preparatory Visit
Teachers are welcome to pre-visit MOA after booking a program. To arrange free admission, call 604 822 3825 or email bookings@moa.ubc.ca with your booking confirmation letter on hand.

Arrival Times
Groups must arrive 15 minutes in advance of program start-time. Teachers must check in with Admissions Desk upon arrival. In case of delay, call 604.822.4643 before leaving school or en route to the Museum.

Cancellation Fees
A fee of $15.00 will be charged if cancellation notice received less than 72 hours prior to each scheduled program.

Hours
During school terms, MOA is open Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, and Wednesdays to Sundays 10 am to 5 pm.

Eating Facilities
There are no eating facilities unless booked in advance and confirmed with a MOA confirmation letter. Coats, packs, and lunches are not permitted in the galleries and must be stored in the provided bins. Cash and valuables should be left at home or carried in pockets, as MOA is not responsible for lost or stolen goods.

In the event that the eating facilities are booked, the Student Union Building on campus is a suitable alternative. Please click here for a campus map: www.maps.ubc.ca/PROD/?index.php. The Museum's outdoor Courtyard and adjacent grounds are suitable for picnicking in good weather.

Parking Rates
Bus parking is available in front of the Museum. Other parking is available at the Rose Garden Parkade at $3.50 per hour. Rates and schedules can be found at www.parking.ubc.ca.
