MOA is delighted to announce the appointment of Catherine Ouellet-Martin as the Assistant Director, Administration.
Catherine is an experienced arts administrator with a long history in the museum sector. Catherine joins MOA from UBC’s Beaty Biodiversity Museum, after a decade as the Senior Operations Manager.
“We’re happy to welcome Catherine to the MOA team,” says MOA Director Susan Rowley. “Coming to us from the Beaty, Catherine has already established herself as an invaluable member of the UBC community and brings a deep knowledge of working at the university that will greatly benefit MOA. Her demonstrated commitment to the museum sector in BC is commendable, and we’re honoured she will now apply her experience and leadership to help usher in a new era at MOA.”
Prior to joining UBC, she was the Executive Director of the Fraser River Discovery Centre. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Public History from Simon Fraser University, in addition to having done archaeology and anthropology field studies in Europe.
Catherine sits on the board of the BC Museums Association, and was vice president of Tourism New Westminster. She has served as a board member with Coast and Mountain Tourism Regional, a member of the City of New Westminster Parks, Culture and Recreation Committee and a member of the Corridor Management Plan Committee for the Gold Rush Trail.
At MOA, Catherine is head of the Administration department and is responsible for human resources and financial operations. She also oversees visitor services for the nearly 200,000 annual visitors that come to MOA each year.
