Gid Kuuyas Collison-Robertson is Haida and previously worked at the Haida Gwaii Museum, where her role as Decolonizer involved Nation-based scholarship and hands-on training in “Haida-ized” museum practices in collections, archives, exhibitions, archaeology, repatriation, diplomacy, and learning Haida history and language. She is also a lifelong member of the Haida Repatriation Committee.

Kuuyas previously joined MOA as a part of the Fall 2024 cohort of the Indigenous Internship Program. During her time in the program, Kuuyas researched Haida belongings housed at MOA and participated in repatriation efforts.

As the new Collections and Conservation Assistant, Kuuyas will support MOA’s Collections Care, Management + Access department. She will assist with processing new acquisitions, managing collections storage and supporting collections access visits with researchers and community members from around the world.
