Pam Brown, Curator, Pacific Northwest

Areas of Expertise

Pam Brown’s curatorial work focuses on First Nations communities on the Pacific Northwest Coast in British Columbia.  Her specific responsibilities include MOA’s Heiltsuk, Wuikinuxv, Tahltan, Tlingit, Ktunaxa and Tsimshian (with Jennifer Kramer) collections. Pam has directed the Native Youth Program since 1994, a summer program that engages six urban First Nations high school students each year in a two-way exchange of knowledge and skills relating to their culture and traditions.

Research Interests

Pam’s research interests include material culture, urban Aboriginal art and issues, oral history, collaborative research, community exhibitions and Aboriginal internships.
