Culture Club at MOA: Zine-Making
Sunday July 31, 2022 | 11 am – 1 pm
For this month’s Culture Club, join MOA’s Native Youth Program student staff for a drop-in zine-making workshop for families.
Zines are self-published works using diverse media, including text, drawing, collaging and more. During this workshop the NYP team will share examples of their own zines and describe how they, as Indigenous youth, connect to the art presented in MOA’s feature exhibition, Xicanx: Dreamers + Changemakers / Soñadores + creadores del cambio. Participants will create their own zines exploring identity and activism taking inspiration from works in the exhibition.
Mark your calendars for the last Sunday of each month for our new family program series—Culture Club at MOA— which focuses on active, participatory learning about diverse cultural perspectives and ways of knowing.
This workshop is designed for youth, but all are welcome to join. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Limited supplies; first come, first served.
CULTURE CLUB IS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF UBC CAMPUS + COMMUNITY PLANNING.
