Stenciling Workshop with Lapiztola Oaxaca Art Collective – SOLD OUT

This workshop will introduce participants to the possibilities of using stencils as a tool, in the context of street art, to engage with social issues. The workshop is produced in conjunction with MOA’s newest exhibition, Arts of Resistance: Politics and the Past in Latin America, which explores the role of creativity during times of political turmoil.
Artists of the Lapiztola Oaxaca Artist Collective from Mexico will guide participants in this hands-on workshop to create paper stencils, the foundation of the street art they create as a form of protest and communication. Learn the techniques used to treat and reproduce digitally printed images. Reflect on the images produced and explore the visual messages they contain.
No experience necessary. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Workshop cost includes museum admission and materials. Limited to 20 participants.
