Can I take photos or film at MOA?

While you are permitted to take photos and videos, the use of flash is not allowed. Tripods, selfie-sticks, and gimbals are not permitted. In certain cases, there will be signs designating areas where photography is not allowed.

Photos and videos taken of MOA’s collections are allowed for personal and research uses only. Any other uses, including publication and social media, may require copyright clearance from artists or third parties.

3D scanning and audio recording inside the Museum for any purpose is strictly prohibited without prior arrangement with museum staff.

If you wish to have a professional photo or film shoot or have any requests that fall outside personal and research uses, you will need to complete the application form and return it to communications@moa.ubc.ca.
