Booking Your Field Trip
Know Before You Book:
Guided Programs + Self-Guided Visits
Cost
- Museum Admission: Groups of 10 or more students (K–12) receive a discounted rate of $8/student (free for Indigenous students and students 5 years old and under).
- Program Fee: In addition to museum admission, guided school programs have a flat fee of $105/class (max. 30 students).
Arrival (for guided programs only)
Please arrive 15 minutes in advance to ensure your students can enjoy the full duration of the program. In case of delay, call 604.822.3825.
Payment
Teachers must check in with the Admissions Desk to remit payment upon arrival (Visa, Mastercard, Debit, school cheques and cash are accepted – we do not accept personal cheques). Schools can also be invoiced upon request after receiving booking confirmation. This invoice will be sent out after your visit has ended.
Supervision
We require 1 adult supervisor for every 7 elementary students and 1 adult supervisor for every 10 secondary students. Adult supervisors receive free museum admission, with the expectation that they remain with their students at all times and support their respectful behaviour while visiting MOA.
MOA Shop
Students visiting the MOA Shop must be accompanied by an adult supervisor. We request 1 adult supervisor per 8 students visiting the shop, with a max capacity of 16 students in the shop at one time.
Parking
Car parking is available in front of the Museum and across the street at the Rose Garden Parkade for hourly and daily rates—please consult UBC Parking for more information. Buses can park for free in the MOA lot.
Lunch
A shared lunch space for schools can be booked in advance for 30-minute timeslots. Classes that are unable to book the lunch space will need to make alternative arrangements as there are no other eating facilities at the Museum for school groups. Please note the Cedar Café is not available for school groups to use for lunch.
Pre-Field Trip Visit
We welcome teachers to visit MOA free of charge in advance of their field trip to aid their planning and preparation. For entry, please provide your field trip booking confirmation and valid BC school ID (no appointment necessary).
Cancellation Policy
50% of the total booking fee will be charged if a cancellation notice is received less than two weeks prior to your scheduled visit.
For questions about school program bookings, please contact bookings@moa.ubc.ca or 604.822.3825.
