Graffiti Workshops

Join Larissa Healey and learn about the contemporary art of tagging and the traditional elements she draws influences from.
Spend an afternoon with Indigenous graffiti artist Larissa Healey, AKA Gurl Twenty Three, and learn about the contemporary art of tagging and the traditional elements she draws influences from. Participants will have the opportunity to work with both digital and paint graffiti surrounded by the visual inspiration of the Museum of Anthropology. Please bring a notebook/sketchbook and pencil.
Larissa Healey (Anishnabe) “Nimi koonz” Little Dancing Bear, AKA Gurl Twenty Three has been featured in many publications including the Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Sun and Down Low Magazine. Her work is featured in Wall to Wall: Tour of Mural Art in Vancouver and international best seller Graffiti Art and Women. Healey’s works have covered the walls of the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Bill Reid Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada and more including various businesses and streets in Vancouver. She is a member of Beat Nation Live, a cross platform digital-arts performance collective. Healey is an experienced facilitator and has decades of experience working with at-risk and Indigenous youth.
