Immerse yourself in the rich musical heritage of Iran, featuring Maestro Mokhtabad, the renowned Iranian singer and composer, as he explores Morakkab-Khani (modal modulation), weaving between the evocative modes of Dastgah-e Shur and Bayat-e Esfahan. The evening will bring together beloved works from the Iranian classical music tradition, the timeless poetry of Hafez’s ghazals, and the expressive beauty of Avaz – the art of Persian classical vocal improvisation.
Drawing inspiration from the great masters of Iranian classical music alongside his own compositions, Maestro Mokhtabad will create a memorable musical journey celebrating the depth, elegance, and enduring spirit of Persian cultural heritage.
He will be joined by three accomplished musicians whose artistry brings the sounds of traditional Iran to life:
Mohammad Anoush – Tombak and Persian percussion instruments
Sahand Sarbisheh-i – Tar and Setar
Mithaq Khorram – Kamancheh
More than a concert, this is an opportunity to experience the profound connection between music and poetry, to discover the beauty of Persian artistic traditions, and share in an evening of cultural appreciation and connection—all set in the inspiring backdrop of MOA’s Great Hall.
