MOA outdoor tour takes visitors outside to the Museum grounds to see Arthur Erickson’s inspirational architecture, to see contemporary house posts by Musqueam artist Susan Point and to be introduced to the poles on the grounds and the Haida House. Visitors get to visit inside the Haida House and be introduced to poles by artists Bill Reid, Jim Hart, Mungo Martin and others. 

This 30-minute tour introduces the Kwakwaka’wakw Potlatch, a very important First Nations ceremony. Highlighting examples of the regalia worn and the masks and headdresses danced in such ceremonies, this tour provides visitors with the opportunity to handle masks carved by First Nations artists before watching a short video of Potlatch scenes.

This 30-minute tour offers a look at MOA’s extensive collection of textiles. It will feature the masterworks from the Northwest Coast First Nations collection. Visitors will see examples of clothing and textiles from other cultures and develop an appreciation for resources, tools and techniques used around the globe.

This 30-minute tour features a unique collection of European ceramics from the late 15th to early 19th centuries. The collection consists of nearly 600 pieces of lead and tin-glazed earthenware and some stoneware collected by Walter Koerner over 40 years of his life.
